Police investigate suspected arson attack in Kings Tamerton
Police are investigating possible arson after fire crews were called out to a car fire in a car park in Kings Tamerton in the early hours of Monday morning (16 September).
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue service received a number of calls shortly before 2am and mobilised one appliance from Camels Head station.
On arrival the crew reported that the vehicle was well alight and they used two sets of breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to deal with the blaze.
Police were called out to the incident once was suspected.
The vehicle was severely damaged by the fire. A metal storage container next to the vehicle was also damaged by heat.
The crews attempted to gain access to the container using a reciprocating saw and small tools and used a thermal imaging camera to assess the heat in the container.
