Many of the UK's leading children's activities providers have joined forces to put in place an official Code of Practice to help raise the standards of safety and quality in this burgeoning industry.
Until now, no such guidelines have existed and anyone is free to offer classes for children without any form of accountability or control.
Children can make a range of Roman-inspired arts and crafts at Plymouth City Museum and Art Gallery on Saturday 27 July, when it marks the 2013 Festival of British Archaeology.
The ‘Roman Army’ sessions will run from 11am to midday, 1.30pm to 2.30pm and 3pm to 4pm and youngsters will be able to use a variety of craft materials to make a Roman shield, helmet and flag.
