Drivers coming into the city centre via Exeter Street could face some delays as work starts on a new crossing.
Contractors working on the British Land leisure complex will be digging up the road in order to install ducts beneath the surface to house cabling for the new pedestrian crossing.
A traffic order is being published today for the work which gets underway on 13 August....
Work to provide an improved walking and cycling route between Plymouth Rail Station and Exeter Street will begin on Monday 6 January.
Part of the Council’s Plymotion scheme, the improvements will deliver the next section of the new west-to-east route from Stonehouse to Plympton and Plymstock via Laira Rail Bridge, which will be opened to pedestrians and cyclists in 2015.
