Dante Quartet

The Old Chapel is a magical and intimate setting for chamber music. Opening with Haydn at his most mischevious, leading on to the high drama of Kodaly’s first quartet, an epic piece which combines the romantic influence of Brahms and Strauss, the sensual textures of Debussy and the earthiness of Hungarian folksong. As darkness falls, Debussy’s quartet explores a unique sound-world, perfect for the wonderful acoustics of The Old Chapel.

Haydn – Quartet op 50 no. 5 in F, ‘the Dream’

Kodaly – Quartet no. 1 in C minor.

Debussy – Quartet in G minor.
