Plymouth's inaugural Festival of Sail has got underway with many events and activities taking place around the waterfront area on the Hoe and Barbican until Sunday 7 July and culminating with the biennial regatta of Plymouth Race Week.
Labour has won the Southway by-election, gaining the council seat from the Conservatives.
