Heavy rain causes a number of flooding incidents in Plymouth

Fire and Rescue crews attended a number of flooding incidents last night after heavy rain hit Plymouth.

Two people had to be rescued from their car in Gdynia Way, Prince Rock, Plymouth after it became stuck in floodwater.

Safety on Dartmoor Day

Local rescue charities and branches of emergency services, National Trust and Dartmoor National Park Authority are holding their second safety on Dartmoor day at Lydford Gorge near Tavistock on Sunday 23 June between 10am and 4.30pm.

This rare Tudor wreck is one of the world’s most important 16th century discoveries and the first to be protected by the UK Government. Insworke Tide powered corn mill on Millbrook Lake, Cornwall was the last tide mill building to have survived in the Plymouth area. Cynthia Gaskell Brown made a detailed study and excavated the interior in 2011 before it was converted for domestic and office use.
