For this concert, the University of Plymouth Choral Society and Sinfonia have chosen three contrasting works of Mozart, and a favourite Bruckner motet.
Mozart’s delightful string serenade Eine Kleine Nacht Musik precedes his setting of Ave Verum Corpus – a motet that portrays redemptive meaning of suffering. Bruckner paid homage to this work in his own Locus Iste. Mozart’s Requiem – in the portentous key of D minor – is haunting and powerful.
The programme is led by Musical Director Alice Dennis, BEM.
