Plymouth Arts Cinema receives over £47k support from the DCMS Culture Recovery Fund in a vital boost for the city’s independent cinema

Plymouth Arts Cinema is one of more than 200 independent cinemas across England being supported this Christmas with £16 million in grants from the Government’s £1.57 billion Culture Recovery Fund, allocated by the BFI. Plymouth Film Festival

International shorts are brought back for a second year at Plymouth's Film Festival.

Saturday evening includes a preview screening of Dartmoor Killing, followed by a Q & A session, the Awards Ceremony and networking party.

Sunday afternoon includes a filmmaking workship by screenwriter, Robin Mukherjee. Categories include Fiction, Animation, Comedy, Student, Documentary and South West.

For our Bringing In Baby session we will be screening Kill Your Darlings.

These film screenings are for parents, grandparants and carers of babies to enjoy a selection of our films without having to worry about baby making too much noise! ArcHIVe – HIV – The Untold Story

The Eddystone Trust has occupied offices next to Plymouth Arts Centre in Looe Street since 1995, and in 2012 they celebrated their 25th anniversary.

The Trust is an independent HIV and sexual health organisation providing information, training and support across the South West. They have obtained funding from the National Lottery Heritage Fund to explore the stories of those affected by HIV in the past and present and how medical advances in the last four decades have changed lives.

An archival exhibition will open on Sunday 1 December (World AIDS Day) and will run for one...
