Recycle your Christmas tree and raise money for two local hospices
Children’s Hospice South West (CHSW) is partnering with St Margaret’s Hospice Care to offer a Christmas tree recycling service for households across Somerset.
Last Christmas, ‘treecyclers’ raised almost £8,000 for CHSW, which runs the Little Bridge House children’s hospice in North Devon, as well as Charlton Farm near Bristol, and Little Harbour in St Austell. This year, it is collecting real trees in even more locations in return for a donation.
Donations for trees collected in Taunton area (TA1, TA2 and TA3) will be split between CHSW and St Margaret’s Hospice, who provides care for those with a life limiting illness, across Somerset.
Volunteers from Biffa will be collecting trees between 10-17 January, and the last booking date is Thursday 4 January 2024.
CHSW area fundraiser Henrietta Olsson said: “This is such an easy, green and charitable way to recycle your Christmas tree, while helping to provide vital care and support to children with life-limiting illnesses and their families.
“The money raised from collecting and recycling trees will help make a huge difference for people at their most difficult times, so don’t wait – book your collection in today!!

Busy elves from St Margaret’s Hospice will also be out collecting trees from kerbsides across the county on Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th January and are on the search for volunteers to join their collection team.
